A View from the Top

The view from the top of the Dorset Lookout Tower. It can be a bit of a shaky walk up the stairs especially when the winds are blowing. The tower is about 100 feet high and the overall elevation is about 500 feet over the Lake of Bays.

Such a beautiful view. It took me fifteen years to get up the courage to make it all the way to the top, because I’m terrified of heights. The first time I tried, there weren’t the cages enclosing the stairs that circle the upper half. I’m still pretty shaky each time I climb the tower and don’t look down until I’m at the top. http://www.birdwalking.ca/pblog/index.php?showimage=1269

Hi Robert, Definitely “shaky” is the operative word. I could not imagine climbing up without the cage being at the top. That’s a great shot you took – thanks!
